Artist Bio

Look for KIX– Steve Whiteman (lead vocals), Jimmy Chalfant (drums, vocals), Ronnie Younkins(guitars), Brian Forsythe (guitars) and Mark Schenker (bass)—to release their first new album in almost two decades on Aug 5th, thanks to their new partnership with Loud & Proud Records. What makes the project even more exciting and anticipated is that the album features the band’s original line-up, with the exception of Schenker on bass.

“The boys and I are so happy that our old friend, Tom Lipsky, has invited us to join the Loud & Proud family,” exclaims Whiteman. “We worked with Tom and Madelyn Scarpulla on our last studio album, SHOW BUSINESS, and we’re looking forward to working with them again with the release of the first new KIX album in almost 19 years! We’ll still be coming to a dump near you very soon!”

Loud & Proud Owner & President Tom Lipsky adds, “What I have always loved about KIX is they make rock ‘n roll fun. What I love about their new music is that it’s pure, genuine KIX music, straight up guitar rock with no compromise. They’re not chasing trends or trying to re-invent themselves. They’re simply doing what they do best…and now they can do it Loud and Proud!”

Marking the re-emergence of KIX in early-2000’s, the band had teamed up a few times a year to test the waters with reunion shows in the Maryland/Pennsylvania, which were very well received. Then in the summer of 2008, KIX performed outside the mid-Atlantic for the first time in 13 years at two of the biggest rock festivals in the U.S. Rocklahoma in Pryor, OK and Rock the Bayou in Houston, TX. The band was hailed by many music websites and attendees as “Best Performance” at both festivals, where they played alongside Sammy Hagar, Alice Cooper, Tesla, Queesryche, Ratt, and more.

As the demand for new music has never subsided and in fact has only increased over the last few years, the band decided that they can no longer ignore the overtures from their fans and are currently recording new KIX songs. The new album, due out summer 2014, is produced by Taylor Rhodes, who last worked with KIX on 1991’s HOT WIRE album. Rhodes has also written hit songs for Aerosmith, Ozzy Osbourne and Journey.

Voices of Extreme is a power trio hailing from New York, and is currently planning their summer touring schedule. The band’s history dates back to 2004 with it’s inception and now proudly lists its members as Don Chaffin (Lead Vocalist/Guitarist), Steven G. Knight (Bass) and Bobby Marks (Drums). Born in Long Island New York, Don Chaffin has toured the U.S.A. opening for Godsmack, Foreigner, Disturbed, Alice in Chains, Powerman 5000, Dr. John, Steve Howe of Yes, Robbie Krieger of The Doors , Vanilla Fudge and more. Since 1995, Don has worked hand in hand as co-writer and co-producer with the legendary team of Jerry Kasenetz and Jeff Katz from the Kasenetz and Katz Allstars / Ram Jam. Don Chaffin recently lent his formidable pipes to the Dave Mustaine (Megadeth)/ Dan Spitz (Anthrax)-produced debut album (and subsequent tour) from Red Lamb, the band featuring Dan Spitz from Anthrax on guitar. He’s also the man behind the mic for American Mafia, as well as Ram Jam, the band made famous by the hit song “Black Betty.” As a songwriter, Don has worked closely with hit-making producers/ writers like Jerry Kasenetz, Jeff Katz, Debbie Gibson and Jim Bralower. He also recently launched the DIIBand (also with Dan Spitz). Bassist Steven G Knight’s career has consisted of playing hard rock, southern rock, country, modern worship music, to acoustic folk. Being self taught and influenced by his older brother at a young age by bands such as Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath, Judas Priest, Scorpions, Sting, Queensryche and Iron Maiden to a few. This music has left a serious mark on his attitude and skill set of excellence. Fresh out of High School he took the stage with the 1980’s chart hitting Rock band, “Bellicose,” named Z-Rock’s band of the year, with the album, “Love on Ice” was his first major calling. Rolling onward, he’s never stopped as a wanted man playing with Roulette, Outcast, as well as Michael Gott, Robin Hackett, Jerry Audley, Junkyard Mars, Stand2Reason, SuperNova Remnant, Carbon, WOWU2, Rod Black, Jeremy Lynn Woodall and the Grinders, Billy Joe Shaver, Saints and Sinners, and Ashes of Eagles. A staple of the Texas music scene, and so much more. Drummer Bobby Marks has recorded and toured extensively with many world famous artists, including Dokken, Eddie Money, Joe Lynn Turner, Scarecrow, Arabia, December’s Child, Rage & Beyond and, most recently, Flavor Flav and the Flavortronz. Known for a sexy backbeat and powerhouse delivery, Bobby epitomizes the east coast, hard rock style that continues to be in-demand worldwide. Bobby plays DW drums, pedals and hardware, Paiste cymbals, ProMark sticks and Remo drumheads. As they get ready to hit the road with Tesla, the dynamic hard-rock trio that has brought adeep melodic edge to metal is ready to bring their energy and intensity to a city near you!
