Artist Bio
"The Concert for Bangla Desh Re-Visited" Featuring Wonderous Stories and Friends In 1971 Harrison held the first large scale and historic rock and roll benefit at Madison Square Garden for the people of Bangladesh using sitars and other Indian instruments and of course he had superstars Eric Clapton ,Bob Dylan Leon Russel, Badfinger, Billy Preston and more. One of the great things about this current show is that a portion of the money goes to St Judes Childrens Cancer Hospital! Wonderous Stories, along with a huge band(choir, horn section, sitars & more) will play the entire original concert aprox 1 1/2 hrs and then we call up some national acts who have had hits in the 60s, 70s and 80s and play some of their hits with them. For 3 years in a row 2007-08 & 09 Wonderous Stories played George Harrisons "Concert for Bangladesh" in its entirety at BB Kings Club in Manhattan to sold out audiences. We again played the show to standing room audiences in 2011 and 2013 at The Highline Ballroom .Then we played 3 sold out shows in a row 2017-18 &19 at the beautiful Space at Westbury. In those years special guests have included members and former members of the Badfinger, Paul McCartneys Wings ,The Young Rascals, Alan Parsons Project, Vanilla Fudge, The Hooters, Zebra, Tower of Power, Ted Nugent, Dire Straits, The Soul Survivors, a great set with Marshal Crenshaw and much more. We have also had people who were behind the scenes at the original 1971 Bangladesh show and special guest promoter Sid Bernstien (Beatles at Shea). Special guests this year TBA announced and added to the show as it gets closer. Weve never failed to come through with amazing guests!
